Georgia State University Project for PurDigital Media, Inc.
Challenge:
Georgia State University, a major research University, issued a request for proposal to provide Internet access, telephone, and television services to its 2,600 campus housing residents. Incumbents included BellSouth and Comcast. As a small company focusing on offering data, video, voice, and public Wi-Fi services through a fiber infrastructure and common IP-based platform to high density, multi-dwelling residential properties in the southeastern United States, PurDigital engaged Lance Weatherby to respond to the request for proposal.
Actions:
- Wrote formal response to request for proposal.
- Presented proposal to Georgia State University decision-making committee.
- Developed and managed operational program implementation.
Results:
- PurDigital won $4.7 million incremental revenue contract, increasing monthly recurring revenue by 50%.
- PurDigital gained 2,600 new customers.
- Georgia State University became the first college in the country to offer Internet-based triple play services.
"Lance Weatherby is the kind of guy who does what it takes to get the job done. He is smart, honest, forthright and funny - and he's a pretty snappy dresser too."
- Jeff Levy, Chairman & CEO, PurDigital Media, Inc.
